Odin was born and raised near Red Deer, AB and was introduced to Hip Hop during his High School years by a close friend through the movie 8 Mile. Odin quickly began writing rhymes inspired by the relatable aesthetic of the film.

 

Out of a desire to control all the creative aspects of his work, Odin began teaching himself audio production, mixing, mastering, and art design. Skills he still employs today on every release.

As he developed as an artist, Odin adopted his moniker in 2017 after several years of releasing content locally and honing his skills at open mics.

 

He chose this name in part, to honor his Danish blood lines. Odin is a God of Norse mythology associated with knowledge, poetry, death, healing, and battle. Feeling the associations with knowledge and poetry suited the image he wished to portray (as well as who he is off the mic) Odin the Emcee, was born.

 

Odin's influences are wide and varied from producers including Brian Wilson, Dr. Dre, & George Martin; to lyricists such as Eminem, Yelawolf, Rakim, KRS-One, Classified, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Kendrick Lamar, Outkast and many more.
